Ingredients
-
1 cup apple cider vinegar
-
1/4 cup soy sauce
-
1/4 cup water
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
2 tablespoons tamarind paste
-
2 tablespoons molasses
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
-
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
2 anchovy fillets, diced
Instructions
-
In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients
-
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring well to dissolve the sugar.
-
Once it reaches a simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it gently simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
-
If you've included anchovy fillets, make sure they dissolve into the sauce. You can use a whisk to help with this.
-
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the Worcestershire sauce cool to room temperature.
-
Strain the sauce to remove any solids and transfer the liquid to a sterilized bottle or jar.
-
Store the Worcestershire sauce in the refrigerator. It should rest for a couple weeks and will last for many more weeks.
